A bit slow but very reliable
As I said in my review of the 8TB model, I bought this 6TB model because I have a vast assortment of media material, such as movies, TV Series and music files of all kinds, which simply could not fit all on my PC. Although I compress them to make them fit, they are by far too many as not to compromise the rest of my PC functions.
I actually bought two of them, and despite the fact that this model is a bit slower as for instance its cousins (WD Element ones), they are reliable in their response. The only downside is that before one can detach them from the main platform, removing physically the USB cable, one has to get to the taskbar and "announce" their detachment (Windows PC). Then follows a waiting moment and if busy it won't allow you to remove it.
Solution? Either wait until its labor is finished, or simply shut down the PC and remove the USB cable then. Failing to do so, may result in a warning that there might be an error on the hard drive (it practically never has an error on its surface after analyzing it, but such are the Microsoft rules).
But all in all I would still recommend it for heavy or massive storage, but in my view, this Hard Drive is more suitable for other kinds of storage, such as documents, pictures and less encumbering files, since media files are just that... heavy stuff to digest.
